Privacy policy
A curator network needs transparent privacy controls.
This policy explains the practical data rules behind Overlappd: how account, discovery, recommendation, and safety data are used, and which controls stay in your hands.

What we collect
We collect the information needed to run Overlappd as a social media and media-curation service, including account details, profile information, ratings, reviews, lists, messages, safety reports, and the settings you choose.
We also collect security and integrity signals such as sign-in activity, device and browser information, approximate network identifiers, moderation history, and fraud-risk events so we can protect the community from bots, spam, and abuse.
How we use personal data
We use account and profile data to sign you in, build your curator identity, power recommendations, show social activity, and let other people discover you according to the privacy controls you select.
We use trust and safety data to verify accounts, investigate reports, enforce community rules, rate-limit abuse, and prevent suspicious or automated behavior from distorting discovery and recommendations.
Discovery, visibility, and social controls
Your settings let you control profile visibility, search discoverability, activity status, online status, what sections of your profile are public, and who can message you. Block and mute tools also change how people can reach you and see your activity.
People who are not sufficiently discovery-ready or trusted may be limited from appearing in discovery, match surfaces, or recommendation social proof until enough safety and taste signals are in place.
Email and retention communications
Account emails, such as verification or password-reset messages, are operational messages and are handled separately from optional product-retention email.
Weekly recommendation digests and social roundups are opt-in. You can change those preferences from Settings at any time.
Your rights and choices
Overlappd is designed so you can access, export, and delete your account data without filing a support ticket. Export and deletion controls live inside Account & Access, and privacy controls live in Settings.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws may also give you rights to know what personal data is processed, correct it, delete it, or request a portable copy. We use the in-app controls as the primary way to exercise those rights.
Children and age limits
Overlappd is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts, and the signup or onboarding flow requires an explicit age confirmation before full access is granted.
If we learn that an underage account was created, we may suspend or remove it and limit any personal data associated with that account.
Policy version
This privacy policy version is 2026-04-08. If we make material changes, we may update the in-app notices, the policy version, and related acceptance records inside your account.
