Affiliate disclosure
Transparency about how provider links work.
Overlappd may earn a small commission from affiliate links. This page explains how that works, where those links appear, and why they never influence what we recommend.

What are affiliate links?
Some links on Overlappd that point to external stores or streaming services are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase or start a subscription, Overlappd may earn a small commission from the provider at no additional cost to you.
How we choose what to recommend
Affiliate links are a fulfillment layer — they help you get to the thing you already decided you want. They are completely separate from how Overlappd decides what to recommend.
Our cultural engine, daily recommendation algorithm, fingerprint analysis, and all ranking logic are entirely unaware that affiliate links exist. Recommendations are never influenced by commission rates, provider availability, or affiliate eligibility.
Where affiliate links appear
Affiliate links may appear on daily recommendation cards, media detail pages, shared fingerprint cards, and curated commerce packs. They do not appear on user profiles, match screens, review feeds, direct messages, or the fingerprint dashboard.
When an affiliate link is present, a small info icon appears next to the provider name. Tapping or hovering the icon reveals a disclosure tooltip.
Which providers may be affiliate partners
Overlappd works with providers across books, games, movies, TV, and music. Current and future partners may include stores like Bookshop.org, Humble Store, GOG, and streaming services like Apple TV, Apple Music, and others.
Not all providers have affiliate programs. When a provider does not offer one, the link still works — it just does not generate a commission.
Your control
You can opt out of affiliate tracking entirely in Settings under "Where to Buy". When opted out, all provider links will be plain links with no affiliate tracking. This has zero effect on what is recommended to you.
You can also set your preferred provider per medium (books, games, movies, TV, music) so your favorite store appears first.
FTC and ASA compliance
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) requirements for affiliate marketing.
